As the buzz around Metallica’s first-ever Indian performances grows with each passing week, Ticketgenie, the official ticketing partner for the shows, has announced that the sale of tickets will commence on the 4th of July. This is a day later than the original date the company announced a few weeks ago.

Metallica is set to play two dates in India – they headline the F1 Rocks event in Gurgaon on 28 October and Rock ’N India in Bangalore on 30 October. Ticketgenie also has announced the prices for the tickets: Rs. 2750 and Rs. 1650 for the Gurgaon show and Rs. 2750 if you’re in Bangalore. For fans who book early, the company is offering a 25% early bird discount offer.

All this comes on the heels of a flurry of activity in Camp Metallica. Uber-producer Rick Rubin recently revealed that he’s about to begin work with the band on their next album, the much awaited follow-up to 2008’s Death Magnetic. The band also announced earlier this month that they’d finished recording an entire album with ex-Velvet Underground legend Lou Reed.
