To mark its third birthday, cult indie website and longtime supporter of Indian rock has put together a compilation of nine bands that featured in the website’s Artist of the Month Series through the last year. The compilation, titled Indiean Vol. II, features a mix of established big-name acts like Bhayanak Maut, Motherjane and Exhumation as well as some of Indian indie’s most promising acts like Delhi’s Barefaced Liar, Mumbai’s Goddess Gagged, Pune’s Noiseware and Bangalore’s Eccentric Pendulum.

Releasing the compilation on Indian Independence Day was no random gesture. Commenting on the release of Indiean Vol. II, the website stated “So we thought of not saving the tigers this time, instead we’re ‘celebrating Indian Bands’ this year. Yes, ‘celebrating’ since the word ‘support the scene’ turned out to be a cliché. As you all know it’s a budding scene taking its own time to grow up but there are some signs that the ‘scene’ would turn in to an Industry at some point. Yes! There is hope, and we never doubted that! Hence we no longer support the scene but celebrate it.”

Here’s the complete tracklist:

1. “As Soon as it’s Over” – Barefaced Liar

2. “Jihad” – Motherjane

3. “Polymorphic Infection” – Amogh Symphony

4. “Visionary” – Goddess Gagged

5. “Need for Sleep” – Noiseware

6. “De Engineer” – Eccentric Pendulum

7. “Dear Name” – Bhayanak Maut

8. “All That Is” – Exhumation

9. “Xenophobe” – Undying Inc
