In a freak accident the day before yesterday,Sir Charles got knocked offhis feet by a speeding Motorcyclists rding on the

opposite side of the road.Sir had taken His wife and Dog-Cello,  to the Doctors for a check up…and,while returning

home,He got down from the rickshaw  in an attempt to crossthe road to buy Chicken feed for his dog ,when this happened.

Luckily for sir,there was no on coming vehicle,he landed four feet away with bruises to his feet,hands and shoulder

only because he resisted the impact by presence of mind.Sir Charles is now recuperating with

medication.’I need to get back on my feet-for my sessions on Sunday’Says he.He Will………

The guitar society wishes him  a speedy recovery.

Saregama launches A.R. Rahman

& Katrina Kaif’s Rhyme Skool Volume 2

After the success of their first rhyme album collaboration, Rhyme Skool Volume 1, Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman and Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif are back with Rhyme Skool Volume 2, also being released under the Saregama music label.

Rhyme Skool Volume 2 is a compilation of well-known children’s rhymes and some original rhymes, too, sung and composed by students of A.R. Rahman’s music school, KM Music Conservatory, based in Chennai.

The album features a special animated video crated by Accel Animation, and for the first time, Katrina Kaif will appear as an animated character, a fairy. Kaif also will have voiceovers throughout the songs.

Rhyme Skool Volume 2 will release in both VCD and DVD format.

Symphony Orchestra of India to

Perform in Mumbai

After the successful 10th season of Western classical music, the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) is back with Symphony Orchestra of India’s Eleventh Celebrity Concert. The concert will feature two virtuoso pianists – Tamas Vasary and Stephen Kovacevich.

The concert will take place over the course of four days, commencing on 9 September with a piano recital by Vasary, followed by a performance by Evgeny Bushkov who will conduct pieces of Bizet, Prokofiev and Tchaikovsky. The season will conclude on 24 September with Kovacevich, performing his own interpretations of Beethoven’s piano concerto Number 4, which will be conducted by Evgeny Bushkov.

“We are very proud to present the eleventh season of SOI”, said NCPA chairman Khushroo N Suntook . “It is our constant endeavour to popularize Western music in India, just like the other performing arts genres. We look forward to an enthusiastic response from the audience to the same”.
