1.Scribe Become India’s First-Ever Nominee at MTV Europe Awards

In a first for the Indian indie scene, Mumbai hardcore act Scribe have just been nominated at the MTV Europe Music Awards in the “Best Worldwide Artist” category. Over the last few years the band’s grown accustomed to having accolades and praises sent their way for the reputation they’ve built as one of the most exciting acts in Indian metal today.

2.Pink Floyd Drummer Wants Reunion

Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason says he is disappointed that his former bandmates are mostly unwilling to reunite. The band – David Gilmour, Roger Waters, Richard Wright and Mason – last played together in 2005 at Live 8. Wright has since died.

3.Skyharbor to Launch Much-Awaited Album at NH7 Weekender in November

Skyharbor is the one-man metal project created by Delhi-based producer and guitarist Keshav Dhar. Over the last three years, Dhar has been steadily working away at creating his magnum opus, a sweeping epic of churning metal, oozing ambient riffs, throbbing drums and soaring vocals. In that time, the project has generated possibly the most hype accorded to an Indian metal project in recent history.

4Aerosmith: New Album Due in March?

.Previously, Aerosmith had been saying that their new record would be released next May (presumably to tie-in with the finale of American Idol, where frontman Steven Tyler is a judge). But, according to Tyler, the album might be available a little bit earlier.

5.Dave Grohl ‘Quit’ Nirvana in 1993

Dave Grohl briefly left Nirvana in 1993. Why? Because Kurt Cobain, astonishingly, complained about Grohl’s drumming skills.
